James Clement Jr

Technical mentor, Artist, Author and Designer

Also known (unofficially but proudly) as the “GodFather of Tech” since the late ’90s, thanks to a sharp-eyed friend and coworker, Mark Gibbs.

James Clement Jr. is a Texas-rooted IT professional, artist, and storyteller whose work bridges the worlds of technology and imagination. He’s best known for crafting children’s books that blend humor, heart, and educational adventure—where every page invites curiosity and every character feels like an old friend with a new idea.
His beloved cast, Clem and Roy, along with Rita, Hopper, Percival and Beatrice, spring to life through expressive illustrations and emotionally rich scenes. Whether it’s a riddle-powered snack machine or a rooftop garden offering a moment of peace in a bustling city, James designs each story with warmth, wit, and precision.

Behind the whimsy is a meticulous eye. James’s creative strengths shine in his ability to compose emotionally resonant scenes with intentional color choices, thoughtful prop placement, and engaging character dynamics. He approaches every detail, from spelling to visual clarity, with care and craftsmanship, delivering playful, audience-aware humor that makes learning joyful and accessible for readers of all ages.

If you would love for your children to read about clever characters, joyful learning and a dash of Texas charm, dive into the world of Clem & Roy.
